Cook taking leftover food from the workplace

Q. Can cook  take leftover food from the work, because this food will be thrown away.

A. If the management at work allows the cook to take the food home or it is an established fact that if he does not take it home, the food will be discarded and wasted, it will be permissible for the cook to take the food home.
