ummtaalib
Bismillahir-rahmaanir-raheem. There are many virtues regarding the recitation of Surah al Kahf on Fridays’.عن أبي سعيد الخدري أن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم قال : من قرأ سورة الكهف في يوم الجمعة أضاء له من النور ما بين الجمعتين(سنن البيهقي الكبرى)“Whoever reads Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”(Sunan Al Kubra lil Bayhaqi- Vol: 3- Pg: 353 – Dar ul kutub al Ilmiyyah) عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال من قرأ سورة الكهف ليلة الجمعة أضاء له من النور فيما بينه وبين البيت العتيق(سنن الدارمي) Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri, who said: “Whoever readsSoorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).”(Sunan Al Daarami, Hadith: 3407, Darul Kitaabil Arabi) It is preferable to recite Surah al Kahf after Maghrib on Thursday.قوله "قراءة الكهف" اي يومها و ليلتها, و الافضل في اوّلهما مبادرة للخير و حذراً من الاهمال(Raddul Muhtaar, Vol: 1, pg: 164, H.M Saeed Company) muftisays

ummtaalib
“Virtues of Surah Kahf” by Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh Ul Haq. The hadith related by Hakim and Bayhaqi, from Abu Sa`id (Allah be pleased with him), “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays”. [ibn Hajar, Talkhis al-Habir] Hazrat Al Baraa said that when a man was reciting Surah Kahf with a horse tied with two ropes at one side. Suddenly a cloud overshadowed him, and as it began to come nearer and nearer, his horse began to take fright. He went and mentioned it to the Holy Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam in the morning and he said, “That was tranquillity which came down by reason of the Qur’aan.” Hazrat Abu Darda radiyallahu anhu reported Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alaihe wasallam saying, “If anyone memorises ten verses from the beginning of Surah Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal (Anti-Christ).” (Muslim) Hazrat Abu Darda radiyallahu anhu reported Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alaihe wasallam saying, “Anyone who reads the first three verses of Surah Kahf, he will be protected from the trial of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ).” (Tirmizi) Source

Acacia
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Reminder to read Surah al-Kahf this Friday. It is Jumuatul Wadaa, Friday the 27th of Ramadan - it could be Laylatul Qadr. About this particular night, Shaykh Abdul Raheem shares the following words of encouragement: ... Jumuatul Wadaa in itself does hold some virtue. Being in the last asharah, It's night could be Laylatulqadr, especially this year, as it's the 27th night as well. Also many people are freed from jahannam in Ramadhan and especially towards the end. Therefore, it has been the custom in our Indian subcontinent to come to the masjid very early for Jumuatul Wadaa. The masaajid would be full well before jumuah time. People would be busy in reciting Surah kahf, performing salatuttasbeeh, salatudh dhuha, then Durood shareef and then dua. This is advisable. There is no harm in paying extra attention to the last Friday. Especially when the ummah is in need of people who can cry in front of Allah and attract His mercy and maghfirat towards the ummah as a whole. May Allah give us the understanding of Deen and keep us steadfast on Siraate mustaqeem. Ameen Ameen.
ummtaalib
Jazaakillah. There is a whatsapp message going around regarding jumatul wadaa and the 27th night and i wondered if it was true
Acacia
If it has to do with the following then, no, it is not true. Here is the rest of the shaykh's message: Reality of 'Salatul Fawaait' on Jumuatul Wadaa (Salah for lifelong Qaza, on the last jumuah of Ramadhan) There is a text going around that if you pray four rakats Salah on the last Friday of Ramadhan in such a manner that, in every rakat, you recite 7x ayatulkursi and 15x Surah al Kawthar, then the Qaza of your whole life will be done, even if you had 700 years of Qaza Salah on you. This is baseless. The Hadith used in the text is fabricated. Allama shawkaani has classed it as 'mawdhoo'. Ibn hajar Makki has also classed it as forgery in his book 'Tuhfatul muhtaaj' It could have been forged by some lazy irreligious people, who could not make up for their missed Salahs, so they attempted to find an easy way out. Every missed Salah has to be made up, otherwise, the first questioning on Yawmul qiyamah will be regarding Salah.
ummtaalib
No that message was just to do with jumuatul wadaa and the possibility of it being laylatul qabr. However i'm glad you posted this as well because someone asked me about it
