Asalamu'alaikum 20 Great Tips in Helping New Muslims 1. You should give the new Muslim the feeling that Islam is a perfect religion, its source is divine, and it is totally inclusive. You have to emphasize that there is no truth but the truth of this religion. 2. You should clarify to the new Muslim that Islam erases every sin before it. Otherwise, he will keep thinking about his previous sins. You should make it clear for him that the moment he converted to Islam, his records became clean, 3. Assure him that the only reference for Islam is quraan and sunnah, not the wrongdoings of Muslims. Only Qur’an and Sunnah can define what is right and what is wrong. 4. Advise the new Muslim to read Qur’an, Hadith and Serah as often as possible. 5. Advise him to take care of his personal cleanness in all its types, (Ablution, Ghusl…etc.) 6. He should perform prayers in time, and you should point out the importance of praying in Gama’ah. 7. It is very important that the new Muslim lives in an Islamic environment. This will help him to obey Allah, mainly by keeping him away from sins, and wrongdoings. 8. Take the new Muslim to a nearby mosque. It is better to have someone from the neighborhood accompanying him and following his progress. 9. Let the Imam of the mosque know about this new Muslim, and remind the Imam to take special care of him. 10. Advise him to read and learn more about Islam. It is better if he can dedicate some of his time to do that, whether by himself, or with a group. 11. It is very important for the new Muslim to ask about everything he doesn’t know or can’t understand. He should try to contact scholars or at least ask anyone he trusts. 12. Try to know about his financial status, and help him as much as possible to make him feel friendlier. It will be more encouraging to have his salary raised a little, if you are in a position to make that possible. 13. You should make it clear to him, that his conversion to Islam would cause him some problems. Allah is testing his faith by these problems. He can always handle these problems by referring to Qur’an and Sunnah. 14. You should emphasize the importance of Monotheism and Islamic belief basics. You can provide him with a book that explains these important things in a simple way. 15. Try to keep him away from his previous atmosphere, and to involve him in an environment that suits, and helps his development as a Muslim. 16. Try to engage him in some Islamic activities, and provide him with important books and recorded lectures. 17. Try introducing him to group from his nationality. The communication between them will be easier; he can also have lessons with them. 18. He should feel that he is important and loved by everyone, because of his conversion to Islam. Giving him a gift would be a good start… 19. Make it clear to him that the problems he faces have occurred to every new Muslim, so they are expected. Try to follow-up with his problems, and help him solving them, so that he can handle them without doing something terribly wrong. 20. There should be a simple approach that helps him to learn Arabic language (reading and writing), In order to be able to read quran by himself and understand it.

This is a very important hadeeth because it proves that sometimes more is not better....because it will take away from other responsibilities and other things a person must do....

Asalamu'alaikum Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Taymiyyah Every punishment from Him is pure justice and every blessing from Him is pure grace. (Majmû 'ul-Fatâwâ, 10/85) Whoever desires everlasting bliss, let him adhere firmly to the threshold of servitude (quoted by Ibn Al-Qayyim, Madârij 1/531) The Lord loves to be loved. (Majmû 'ul-Fatâwâ, 1/54) Guidance is not attained except with knowledge and correct diorection is not attained except with patience. (Majmû 'ul-Fatâwâ, 10/40)

MashaAllah tabarakAllah nice to see everyone contributing.....now my turn: Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: A person may hope for some matter of trade or position of authority, until he is close to attaining it, then Allaah, the Most High, looks at him and says to His angels: ‘Divert it from him, for if he attains it I will send him to Hell.’ So Allaah diverts it from him and he keeps regarding that as something bad, saying ‘So and so beat me to it, So and so outwitted me,’ when in fact it is a blessing from Allaah. Quoted by Ibn Rajab in Jaami’ al-‘Uloom wa’l-Hukam (2/470).

Asalamu'alaikum O people who take pleasure in a life that will vanish, falling in love with a fading shadow is sheer stupidity. [ibn al-Qayyim]

Asalamu'alaikum Abû Turâb an-Nakhshabî (rahimahullâh) would say, “If a person resolved to leave sinning, Allâh would send him reinforcements from all sides. What indicates the blackness of the heart are three: Not to find an escape from sinning, nor a place for obedience to occur, nor a haven for the sermon that warns.” One of them said, “If the only quality of obedience was light appearing on the face and its radiance, love in the heart, strength in the limbs, security of the soul (nafs),… all these would have been enough for leaving sins. And if sins only produce ugliness in the face, darkness in the heart and fear over the soul, then all this would have been enough for leaving sins. For both the obedient and disobedient Allâh has left indications and signs to please one and make the other sorrowful.”

Asalamu'alaikum The most naïve thing in my eyes is to linger in sin - with no regrets - hoping for a far off pardon and to come closer to Allah without doing anything and to wait for the harvest of Jannah while planting the seeds of hellfire - waiting for reward without performing any deeds. Yahya ibn Mu'adh rahimuhullah

Quotes from Ash-Shaaf'iee: Ash-Shaafi'ee said, ‘Knowledge is what benefits, knowledge is not what is merely memorised.' *Aboo 'Alee bin Hakamaan said, Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Haaroon Al Hamadaanee Al 'Adl narrated to us, that Aboo Muslim Al Kajjee narrated to us saying, Al Asma'ee narrated to us from Ash-Shaafi'ee, that he said, ‘The core of knowledge, is steadfastness, and its fruit is security, and the core of cautiousness is contentment, and its fruit is tranquillity, and the core of patience is to be resolute, and its fruit is triumph, and the core of actions is ability, and its fruit is success, and the goal in each and every affair is truthfulness.'’ *Aboo Thawr said, I heard Ash-Shaafi'ee say, ‘It befits the Faqeeh (jurist), that he should place some soil onto his head out of humbleness to Allaah, and out of thanks to Allaah.’ *Ar-Rabee' said, Ash-Shaafi'ee said to me, ‘If the Fuqahaa (jurists and people of knowledge) are not the Awliyaa (loyal and devoted ones) of Allaah, then Allaah has no Walee.’ *Hurmulah said, I heard Ash-Shaafi'ee say, ‘I would love that all the knowledge that I have learnt, that I should teach the people, so that I would get the reward, and they would not praise me for it.’ *It has been reported through two chains from Ash-Shaafi'ee, that he said, ‘If I see a man the companions of Hadeeth, then it is as if I am seeing a companion of the Prophet, may Allaah reward them with all good, they protected for us the Asl (origin/foundation), so they have excellence over us.’ *Yoonus bin 'Abdil-A'laa said, Ash-Shaafi'ee said to me, ‘Pleasing the people is a goal you will never reach, and there is no way to ensure security from them, so upon you be that which will benefit you, then adhere to that.’ ’ *From Ash-Shaafi'ee that he said, ‘The sign of a true friend, is that he behaves to the friend of his friend as a friend.’ ’ *From Ash-Shaafi'ee that he said, ‘The most elevated of people in status, are those who do not recognise from themselves any status, and those of them who possess the most excellence are those who do not see their excellence.’

Asalamu'alaikum :brother: :sister: Behaviour and Seeking Permission On the authority of Abu Dharr in a narration ascribed to the Prophet: ‘Smiling in your brother’s face is charity (Sadaqah) for you, when you enjoin the good and prohibit evil it is charity, when you show directions to a man who has lost his way it is Sadaqah for you. Helping a weak-sighted person by using your sight is charity for you. When you remove a rock, thorn and bones from the pathway it is charity for you. When you pour from your bucket into your brother’s bucket it is charity for you.' Translated by: Abbas Abu Yahya — Shaykh Muhammad Nasir ud-Deen al-Albaani Silsilah Ahadeeth As-Saheehah - No.572

Asalamu'alaikum Here is another one: Imaam al-Barbahaaree (rahima-hullaah) mentions: ((From the Sunnah is that you do not help anyone in disobedience to Allaah, whether they be parents or any of the creation. There is no obedience to a human in disobedience to Allaah and no one is to be loved for that (i.e. disobedience to Allaah). Rather, all of that is to be hated for (the sake of) Allaah, the Blessed and Most High)). Sharhus-Sunnah - Imaam al-Barbahaaree

 :o what did he do then ? Well here is an answer for everyone and especially you MW : So important was writing knowledge to him that he was willing to pay as much as 1 deenaar for a pen, whereby he received so many offers by people throwing their pens at him hoping to secure the deenaar in return for their pen.

May Allah protect us from committing shirk and protect us from the Hellfire.

May Allah keep us away from lying about these things and about everything! Nice thread.

Asalamu'alaikum This is the best quote of all times: The people of knowledge who came before us used to say, "Salvation lies in clinging to the Sunnah." Imam Az-Zuhree

Asalamu'alaikum Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah reported that one of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) said, "I do not mind which out of the two blessings was greater. That Allaah guided me to Islaam, or that he kept me away from these innovated sects." [Al-Wasiyyat ul-Kubraa] Muhammad ibn Mubashshir al-Karmeenee said: "Muhammad ibn Salaam al-Baykandee's pen broke whilst in the gathering of a Shaykh, so he announced "a pen for a deenaar", whereby pens began to fall upon him (from all directions)." Intellect is like the light Wahee is like the sight... Intellect is like the lamp Wahee is like the oil Intellect is like the wahee which lives inside a man Wahee is the intellect which lives outside of a man..... BY : IMAAM GAZZAALI.. "Truly in the heart there is a void that can not be removed except with the company of Allaah. And in it there is a sadness that can not be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allaah and being true to Him. And in it there is an emptiness that can not be filled except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him.
